Has anybody managed to run phpfreechat over https:// connection in IE without all the pop-up warnings?

It appears to be down to numerous (odd) hotlinking of images to imageshack.us. Why is this being done rather than having the images in the theme directories?

Does anybody have a sure-fire solution to getting chat running over https?

It works fine in Firefox, as it doesn't report any security problems, but IE6/7 is still the larger share of visitors browsers.

Any thoughts appreciated!

So far the offending image links were in the default theme files:
chat.js.tpl.php and chat.html.tpl.php -- including hot linked images to the phpfreechat badge.

I'm just taking a stab in the dark, but I imagine that was done so the logo could be updated on everyone's install without having to get everyone to download a new one?

The badge image could just be included in the distro.

But it was also all the other silly images being hotlinked to imageshack.

I'd agree, I was just trying to take a guess at the "why."

The loading image ajax logo could not be delivered in the theme structure because at this point, the chat is not yet internally initialized.
So to make things simple, I just removed this image for the next release.
