Out of the blue, I started getting PHP error messages in my chat room when you open up the screen.

I contacted my hosting company because I knew they had been doing upgrades and that's exactly when my chat room stopped functioning.

They said they recently upgrade their PHP from version 4.5 to 5.2.1.

They said they can't help me because it has something to do with the coding of the chat client itself and I would need to contact you to see what tweak or fix is necessary to get it working again.

I took a screenshot of the error messages, but I don't know how to upload an image on this forum. I can't copy and paste, because the error message pop up that appears doesn't let me do that.

I hope someone can help me right away because we have a regularly scheduled chat every Thursday evening and I don't want to have to cancel at the last minute.

Oops. It's been a long, trying day, LOL.

Here is the link to my chatroom. When you open it up, you will see the error messages.

I notice it says line 66 and line 88. These are in pfccommand.class.php
Line 66: if (file_exists($cmd_filename)) require_once($cmd_filename);
Line 88: return $firstproxy;
Why these two lines are pointed out i don't know but try to put the one from the latest pfccommand.class.php into the src folder. The way it keeps popping up looks like a virus action. the more you shut it down the more windows pop up. Failing that, try to reinstall the whole lot. Read through pfccommand.class.php to see what files are mentioned and check all of them. It seems from reading the pop up that something could be missing. Just a few ideas you could try.

Your host has set open_basedir_restrictions which are probably different than before the upgrade, you should contact them to know in which directory you should install the chat.
(Although, judging from te error message, the path's are OK).

You could also try to hardcode the urls in your chat script. I noticed that some servers don't like the script "looking backwards", eg "/home/usr/web/chat/../script.php"

It looks like the new fix has solved things for me. Thank you!

Question: If you go to my chat room now at http://www.virtualassistantnetworking.com/chat/, see where it says "Quick chat?"

I can't figure out where to change that wording and the color of the text. Can you please point me in the right direction?

Thanks!
