Error at launching (File_exists problem)

I just installed the latest 1b9 version and it doesnt want to load.
I got some error message telling me:

[WARNING] file_exists() (blablabla) Unable to load file...

(as i cant copy the error message the best is to got to on my site : http://a.hedgehog.journey.free.fr/PFC/ )

I tried to delete the cache, but it does not go further.
My host is Free and i created a sessions folder at the root.
It's weird because the stable version works perfectly.
I was playing around the channel creation and everything goes well but as i need the 1b9 i wonder how i can make it work.

Did I miss something?
On Free, CHMOD does not work, may it be the reason of theses error?
(i'ld like not to use mysql 'cause i tried to install it but as there's no explicit way of doing this i feel like a beaver trying to use a microwave :s )

(And thanks for all the great work you're doing... its really helpfull and i'me even learning PHP with it ^^)
