Yesterday I was chatting ay mo office.
I came back home without leaving my session, then when , I had to ask a friend to kick me in order to log back, but I was still unable to log with my nick, as it was still "used"

I figured out that a kicked user has not realy left the chat until he had clicked "ok" on the alert box.
Maybe you should execute the "leave" command before showing the alert ?

Excuse my english, I'm french !

Regards
Vincenzo

The /kick command just kick used from a channel but not from the whole chat.
In fact, your nickname stay connected to the chat even no channel is joined.

please excuse the question, but then what is the point of the kick command? I thought it would kick them out of the chat. Do we have to use ban? Will that actually kick them out of the chat?

edit: I just answered my own question. I tried to /kick a test member. Nothing happened...no message...nothing. So I did the /ban command. * banished from My room by Jude went into the chat, but the test member could still chat?? When and how do the /kick and /ban commands work?

We have the same problem as judel. We have installed the new beta and would love to use it as the default chat (we are now using Flashchat which is horribly slow). However, we have to be able to remove annoying people from the chat. I tried the ban and kick commands as well, but I was not able to remove a user from the chat. I saw on the forum there were some problems with the kick function. And there is a fix around there (which I hope will be included in the next beta). However, I do hope that it will be possible to remove annoying people from the chat when they are logged in. :)
