First off let me thank youu for sharing this project!
I appreciate the learning curve.
I am running Joomla 1.0.11 stable and tried loading your 1.0 8 beta I recieved the _Error: the chat cannot be loaded! two possibilities and checked for the @ on line 4 and also tried setting file permissions 755 and 777 but this didnt help.
I then loaded the o.9.3 and although the chat opened it kept scrolling that i had timed out.
I then reloaded the 1.0.8 beta to see if perhaps I had a bad file on the first load.
On checking the checkmd5.php it shows a long list of corrupt files.
Has this got anything to do with my problems?
Do you have other files to replace the corrupt files?
Any assistance will be welcome

Bipod, if you setup correctly data/* directories permissions. I think that the problem is related to your server configuration.
I suggest to wait for the next 1.0-beta9 release wich will improve this point a lot.

It's a very strange problem because it works perfectly on the same host with an other account, here is the phpinfo : http://www.kaliceos.info/phpinfo.php ans here is the working chat : http://www.kaliceos.info/chat2/

I've been attempting with CHMOD 777 and 755 but it's always the same.

Any idea of what's causing trouble ?

Otherwise, I would say that it's a very good idea to write a chat in PHP and AJAX. And I would also like to say that I'm French, that's why my english is so bad !

This new release make an infinite loading of the chat as you can see in the link I gave above.
Any idea of what I can do ?
