Previously I had the chat room working.
(All previous version)

I recently upgraded (1.00.beta6) and now it doesn't work. I upgrated by deleting everything (apart from the index page and 1 graphic) and then re-installed everything (apart from the index.php file). Now all I can manage is error messages. Here are some of them:

Error: the chat cannot be loaded! two possibilities: your browser doesn't support javascript or you didn't setup correctly the server directories rights - don't hesitate to ask some help on the forum www.phpfreechat.net/forum

or

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in \nserverdomainscgfap.co.ukphpchtsrcphpfreechat.class.php on line 26

But I can not get it to work. These are windows servers and you can not chmod +777 the directory, but that never mattered on the last version.

What is the problem ?

The only 1 (php) page I can load (sucsessfully is http://www.cgfap.co.uk/phpcht/demo/ but nothing with chat in it.

Please what is the error message mean.

Regads

This is a windows server (as stated above). The file attributes for /public and /private directories are 700 or drwx-----

This is not my linux server so I can not chmod the directories to 777 and neither do I have root acsess to this server.

YES I can change and modify the directory owners permissions, to my webserver.
There are 700 read/write and execute.

BUT I can not change who owns them, or the read/write/exectue settings for GROUP or PUBLIC. [EDITED]
We have inherited permissions from the owner (host).

Is this a host problem or an IIS problem. ??

The control panel is a funny one, and not a standard one. On fpt accounts we can only, create, and modify read write and execute for the owner permissions. We can not change group or public permissions.

Can this be solved or is this a bad host / don't like windoze / windoze bug / something else ??

From here, you will get the correct installation of the beta package, as released on 1/11/06.

http://www.cgfap.co.uk/phpcht/demo/

I am less beliving this is a problem with directory setting the directories have been created in /public and /private and the directories suchs as 0e87dr5e4r45r544 are created and given 700 file permissions sucsessfully.

On windoze systems 700 permissions read/write/exectue are all on.
I can give the phpinfo settings if you need that.

I know some php code but the error message, is no giving me a line listing to check which php line number is causeing the problem. The error message I receive is.

rror: the chat cannot be loaded! two possibilities: your browser doesn't support javascript or you didn't setup correctly the server directories rights - don't hesitate to ask some help on the forum www.phpfreechat.net/forum

Is there no log file, as debug mode is on ??

Please help this is giving me problems as there is no line number to check php code.

I can give you one pointer, the proxy.php file is not working as expected.
This link :
http://www.cgfap.co.uk/phpcht/data/publ ... cclient.js
Should show the src/client/pfcclient.js content but it doesn't work ...
