Chat logs in cache

Hi, i have my server full of files/directories under the following directories:

phpfreechat-1.3/data/private/logs
phpfreechat-1.3/data/private/chat
phpfreechat-1.3/data/private/cache

i would like to remove the older ones, how can i be sure that i don't remove anything wrong? delete file one week old?

Sorry this is a problem, your chat is creating a *lot* of directories, can you kindly tell us a safe way to remove the files in /chat/, /logs/ and /cache directories?

I need to get directions on how to remove old chat rooms and logs.

1) May i remove files in phpfreechat-1.3/data/private/logs? if yes, what is the safest mode? clean up file modified x days ago?
