I'm having trouble changing the theme?

maybe

$params["theme"] = "green";

I tried but still the same default theme. http://chattunnel.com/phpfreechat-x.x/p ... ctchat.php

I've found that sometimes a /rehash doesn't always apply the correct theme. I've had to leave the chat site, clear my browser cache and cookies and then log back in.
If you've used the sql database integration as mentioned on these forums then I've found that you have to edit the settings.php file in the login folder to reflect the chat theme there and then make sure you have

$params['theme']               = $chatTheme;

on the index page for it to work correctly.

It's also possible that you may need single quotes. So instead of

$params["theme"]

you would need

$params['theme'] = "green";

I've also made the mistake of forgetting to add a ; at the end of a params line lol
