Did changing the refresh_delay param made any differences?

disabling private rooms could also help, since you dont know if people its chatting with another person and so on..

the whois and whois2 command must be messing things up..

lets us know what's up..

Ok,

refresh_delay should have given you less stress to the server and to the client since it would have refreshed the whois and whois2 every 6 seconds..

No I have no more ideas...

I think the problem is come from the init rendering problem. after a long init loading time, the chat room will be stable in the client side. and server side never has a high loading. see if you will have the javascript rewrite or not, otherwise, can you tell me which file is possible for me to rewrite the js?

Hi guys,

I have a dedicated server, witch Xeon 12 threads (6+6HT) processor and 64Go RAM, phpfreechat v1 up to date, and my website slowed when i have ~80 users connected on the chat (~160 on the website). Users got "timeout" every 10 minutes...

I know that php is slow, but is that normal ? Can i "optimize" any config file ?

(sorry for my bad english).

Have a nice day.

James.

As already mentioned in this thread, change your refresh delay. Each user is pinging the server at whatever your refresh delay is, so you can imagine when you have 80 of them all doing it, it's going to start to bog things down a bit. You may also want to try the new PFC, v.2.x, which is likely to have much better performance... however it does not have many features implemented yet.

Suddenly i spotted your notice about delays and here it is - working like swiss clock at my server now! Thank you! :)

Saludos, hace unos dias que ando testeando PFC 1.7, siempre buscando la máxima optimización del servidor, he probado muchas combinaciones:

apache + php5.3 + apc + /dev/shm
nginx + php5.3 + apc + /dev/shm

pero la que más me ha sorprendido ultimamente es ...

Hop Virtual Machine for PHP

HHVM + php5.5 + OPcache + /dev/shm

x4 HTTP Requests
- 30% load average
