just download the phpFreechat to my server and chmod to 777 private and public but have this error once i browse it.
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: sha1() in /var/www/html/phpfreechat-1.3/src/pfcuserconfig.class.php on line 28

What PHP version do you have?
because the error mention sha1() as an undefined function, it a main core function from PHP, you shouldnt be getting that error,
PHP 4.3.0 AND up should have ready by default..
UPDATE php..

Thanks, have 4.2.* installed, will update and post it if something goes wrong.
