Install problems

Hi,

I'm trying to install phpfreechat on a new server.
I copied the files, and chmod the dataprivate and datapublic subdirectories to 777
however I'm getting the following error when I try to access the chat from my browser :


phpFreeChat cannot be initialized, please correct these errors:

cannot create /var/www/vhosts/imtcwiki.org/httpdocs/phpfreechat/src/../data/public/themes/default
cannot create /var/www/vhosts/imtcwiki.org/httpdocs/phpfreechat/src/../data/public/themes/default
/var/www/vhosts/imtcwiki.org/httpdocs/phpfreechat/src/../data/private/chat/s_ad34950afab3974d3cbfd2fa67e2b640 can't be created
/var/www/vhosts/imtcwiki.org/httpdocs/phpfreechat/src/../data/private/chat/s_ad34950afab3974d3cbfd2fa67e2b640 is not writeable
/var/www/vhosts/imtcwiki.org/httpdocs/phpfreechat/src/../data/private/chat/s_ad34950afab3974d3cbfd2fa67e2b640 is not readable

I tried to reinstall (remove/add the directories etc.) but the problem persists.

What you need to do its chmood "/DATA" folder and sub-folder all at once to 777, make sure the rights are correct in the folder...

if problem persist keep us informed..

Just tried to grant 777 permission to the entire /data directory. I'm still getting the same error.
To be on the safe side I delete the entire phpfreechat directory, copied it again and granted the 777 permission. The problem persists.

Any ideas/suggestions ?

please double check with your ftp software to make sure it has the correct Rights..

if you still getting that error it means that you chmood to 777 but dint get that rights set because you FTP user account don't have enough right to do so..

there is no much we can do because the error is explicit the folders and files that needs to be created in the DATA folder cannot be created...

make sure you chmod recursive. Do you have a link to the chat so we can see exact errors?
