Default room by GET request variable?

Hey guys,

I know that it's possible to define default rooms for users to join but I was wondering if it's possible
to enforce the join to a new room with a GET request variable to the chat script.

Example, if a user opens up: http://www.example.com/chat?room=testing123
then the chat would open and open/join room 'testing123' automatically.

Has anyone done this before?
I'd be happy to get some comments and practical example.

Yes it is possible. What you need to do is have a 'routing' page that sets the get variable into something that wont be lost (sessions is by far the easiest). Then on the chat page check for that session variable.

I have a similar problem...

I have 4 rooms but the user is taken to the last room that was created by default. I want to specify which room the user should start in.
