From the time I have installed the chat room I face timeout problems in other features of my site.
(in the foroum - only as admin - and in my dynamic management platform)
The system asks me very frequently for a new password verification and is very annoying and inconvinient because I don't even have the time to enter my data and I am out!
I tottaly deleted the chatroom from the server but the problem still exists!

Any ideas?

Why do you think it's a problem with pfc ? You removed it and the problem persiste ... I think this is your server fault.
Please, ask you administrator.

The problem started exactly from the time I installed and used the chat room so it can't be something else.

Maybe a variable configuration through chat on the whole site?

Could you give me the public url of your chat ? it could help to understand your problem.

However, the chat doesn't modify your server configuration. But maybe there is a bug somewhere? I'm open to integrate any patches about any bugs in the chat source code!

Well...
the problem is worst than I thought as it has probably aplied to all sites on the server.
We actually control 3 different sites and all of them have the problem I explained before so probably smt went wrong to the whole server...

The public url of the chat is here:

http://www.runningnews.gr/chat/php/chat-demo1.php

Come and see at your own if there is smt wrong...

If it can help you I usually take this error message:

Error: The xml response that was returned from the server is invalid.

You had setup the refresh_delay to 2 seconds.
I think it too short, it can overload your server if it doesn't have big CPU.

Leave it to the default value : 5 seconds.

OK with this (refresh_delay) but it doesn't solve the problem (timeout) which whether you believe it or not has aplied to all sites on server!!!

No , bandwidth is definetelly not the problem.
The server admin doesn't know too, what can have caused the problem.
They recommended to unistall the program as I have done but the problem remains.
It is really very strange...

I'm almost sure this is not the pfc fault. Lot of people uses pfc : 200 downloads per day and nobody but you complains about a such problem.
I'm sorry but I can't help you anymore, I must work on the next pfc release.
Good luck

We did reboot at our websites and the problem was fixed.
Unfortunately we don't know what exactly caused the problem.
If it was something during chat installation it can be overlooked.
But if the fault is during chat use then there is seriius problem.
Surely there is something with session timeout.

(I hadn't see your previews answer)

OK.
We conclude that maybe there is a conflict with the dynamic admin platform we use to update our websites and the pfc.
(a common variable maybe)

Sorry for the trouble. Keep up the good work.
I hope that the 1.0 version wan't cause me that kind of problem.

I think i had a similar problem, cause I did include the environment script which gives access to many variables and the actual login data from the blogsite i use.
The problem is, if you do not seperate the client chat script from the server script you get into performance issues, because with every clients' ajax request your whole environment will be loaded.
Split the server script from the chat like in demo3 and you may be done
