Hi, Is it possible to display a greeting notice whenever a user joins a channel?

That's a question I was going to get around to asking. *LOL* I would love it if we could have that feature.

Kerphi, would it be possible for those of us who are willing to experiment to try to write something to make it do that, or is it not possible in the current configuration?

If it is possible, where would we have to start, or would we have to write a separate "command" module that loads automatically when someone logs in, or would it be part of logging in, etc?

Thanks!

Yes, I think it's doable with a proxy.
However, currently it's not on my roadmap. But I will be happy to integrate a contribution if it's well coded.

I think it should be done within the join command.
The config parameters should have a an array or a dictionary (whatever is the name for the data structure) that would hold the names of the channels and the contents of the notice to display.
If a channel name is included in that dictionary, then the corresponding content is displayed.

If would write it, but I don't know PHP. So it won't be "well coded" by any standards.
