Hello

I have been experiencing some throttling from my shared hosting provider..
Im trying to figure out whats causing this but so far have been unsuccessful..

I read somewhere here that shared hosting is not recommended for PhP free chat..
is that true?
Thanks

Correct,

Any httrequest chat system would give a though moment to any shared hosting service.. more the lower the ping to get and receive messages more stress to the server...

best regards.

Check it again in a few days, kerphi does them manually. If it's still not there in a few days, get in touch with him. :)

You need to choose a very reliable hosting package from a reliable hosting company. One tip you can google it up "Best Hosting" and top 5 results will give you good choices. For sure a dedicated plan is better than a shared hosting for a PhpFree Chat.

Shared hosting accounts are notorious for offering low bandwidth and/or being much less robust than virtual or dedicated accounts. Anything that requires many server processes, a lot of database IO, or bandwidth needs a better server/hosting account than what is normally offered in a shared environment.
