Hello,

http://www.phpfreechat.net/required-config says

"PHP >= 4.2.0 for pfc >= 1.0-beta9 (because of "ctype" functions family)"

I have PHP 4.3.11 and phpfreechat-1.4 in my host, however I get (with the default phpfreechat installation) the following to my browser window:

"Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STATIC, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /home/xxx/public_html/chat/src/phpfreechat.class.php on line 131"

Any ideas?

thanks
Heppu

Ok, found out after all, that this was posted once allready, but the requirements are then still wrong in the web page... please correct those, so people do not do unnecessary work because they think their PHP version is good for the job, thank you.

The earlier post:
"pfc 1.4 is not working with php versions <5.0":
http://www.phpfreechat.net/forum/viewtopic.php?id=5598

Is it _technically_ possible to install newer PHP version to my own home directory and run phpfreechat using that?
or
Is there any issues when using nginx (have that in another host with newer PHP).

Thanks
Heppu
