changing logo?

Hello. I'm trying to change the logo.gif file found in the style folder. I replaced the file with my choice of pic. It worked, but the image is cut off at the top of the screen and seems to be constrained to the original file size. My pic is bigger than the original one. What do I need to do to allow for my size logo? Is there a CSS piece of code somewhere that needs to be changed?
