Live translation with Google Translate

Hi everyone,

I want to integrate PHP Free Chat with Google Translate, so two people who do not speak the same language can talk normally. The idea would only work in private chat mode, and users should inform their native language when they log in.
During the private chat, when a user send a message to another user, the screen shows the original message AND the translation.

I found a class at Google Code that is very useful, http://code.google.com/p/google-translate-php-wrapper/.

Does anyone have a idea of how to do it?

I'm new in PHP programming, and any help would be very useful.

You might want to ask the folks at BigBlueButton. They did it for their system.
