The only way is to hack into the php you are trying to use.

Not sure entirely but you can get the username from the $my variable...

You would have to set a variable like this
(example taken from login module code)
$name = $my->username

Then you would have to find the code that makes the login popup...
define that $name variable and then in the form where the input for username is set you set the default for that item to be the $name variable...
