I'm installed on wordpress - up and running just fine but:

How do I admin the users? delete or edit chat's, kick users, switchusernames as admin?

Should I install on mySQL over text option?

How do I enter text on the "page" above the code insert..it all shows under the chatbox

Should I be on WPMU to optimize phpFreeChat or is regular WP OK (I'm on WP)

Changing themes don't seem to have any effect

what is "server id" used for

Can I have additional channels besides the two? Can I have different chat incidences running on different pages?

Sorry for all the questions - I've looked through these emails and other documentation but haven't scrubbed the regular phpFreeChat user forums yet. I thought I would see if I could get some quick answers first. I am running a fresh install of WP and phpFreeChat as of yesterday and the atahualpa theme. I like this plugin a lot!

Thanks!

1) If you have the registered users option checked that means it's your wordpress users you administor those via the dashboard -> users panel.

2) type /help in the chat for options like kick and ban

3) text to go over the chat [phpfreechat] text that goes under the chat

4) WP is fine.

5) you need to /rehash when changing themes

6) Server ID is a unique identifier for your phpfreechat it's used in various places and associates the information it needs by that serverid

7) yes you can have additional channels by hardcoding them in chat.php and phpfreechat.php the $params['channels'] array

Ok Thanks - That's very helpful. I'll get to work on all this - what about the option of MySQL over text? I'm assuming the sql option stores a log of all the chat history? I have text set now but should I switch to mysql? What are the differences? Thanks!

I have tried every possible variation and I still cannot get the text to show up above the chat window on the page. All the text is before the [phpfreechat] but it all shows up under the chat. Any suggestions?

I changed over to SQL and am in good shape with the advice offered from my questions but I'm still stuck with this issue of the text showing up under the [phpfreechat] insert instead of above. I can obviously find other ways to put the text above the chat but I'm hoping there's something simple here that I'm missing...

To put the text "over" the chat window you have to actually embed the chat into a template page instead of using [phpfreechat]

You do this:

if (function_exists('run_phpfreechat')) run_phpfreechat();

Put that *under* the loop in your template page.
