Integrating Joomla 1.5.x users with phpFreechat

Hi All

I have tried the available phpFreechat based components available for Joomla 1.5 but keep experiencing problems. So I would just like to use the native stantalone phpFreechat package but allow my Joomla users to access it while logged in using their username. I am not bothered about template integration or modification. All I am concerned with a menu item that would become available to logged in users which would link them to the standalone phpFreechat installation so their could chat with their usernames.

Can anyone help with integrating Joomla 1.5 users?
