Hey all,

I appreciate you all trying to give me a hand by using the "Report" link on posts containing spam. However, it would actually be much easier for me if you reserved using that feature only for ones I appear to have missed after visiting.

I read through every new post the forum has each day I visit, so I see all the posts made. 98% of the time, I notice spam posts, and I delete the users responsible. However, in some cases, the posts look innocent, and the user returns later and edits them... these are the ones I could use "Report"s on.

The reason I ask you to not use it on the new ones is because it actually just adds a step into the clean up process. As I'm sifting through posts, I find the ones that are spam, select the users, go in and delete them. The system is not smart enough to also then clear the related reports. So I have to also manually click through each report to check that it was one I deleted, and then confirm I deleted it ("zap" it).

I really appreciate you guys trying to help, and there's no doubt that I miss some. So please continue to do that with older posts it appears I have missed!

Thanks,
OldWolf

I'm sorry, I don't do e-mail support. Your best bet for questions like this is to make a new thread on it. I think a user developed an easy IP banning system, but I'm not sure where it is, so someone else might be able to point it out to you.
