chat cannot be loaded in IE but works in Mozilla

I'm integrating a chat to my site that heavily uses Javascript. Now, on Mozilla, it seems to work. But when I tried to use it on IE (same URL), it gives me the "chat cannot be loaded" error.

It turns out that when I was using Chinese/Japanese, there's a javascript error. It works well however using Firefox.

This is what happens I use Japanese on IE/Opera.

"Unterminated String Constant"

Here's the line:

The part where the è produces the error.

But the Japanese language works in Mozilla. However, how come there are ???? (note the squares are ????)
