Embedding Chat

I'm running a WordPress site. Trying to embed chat in a page. I've added

At the top and below in the page
<?php $chat->printChat(); ?>
When I bring up the page I get
->printChat(); ?>
Echoed on the page and no chat. Any ideas?

Wordpress wont parse the php code, you have to make a php page so you can put the code in...

There is a plugin for Wordpress , which we don't support here but if you make it standalone and connect the chat to your session management we can help you out...

Which sub forum? I would like to do it as a standalone but will I still be able to imbed it in an existing web page?

I was actually working on doing the exact same thing and I found a workaround. What I did was use an ftp program to get directly into the file structure for the site. I then created a chat directory and put all the files there. Then in the worldpress page, I used an <iframe></iframe> set of tags to call the chat folder and had the chat room embedded with the inline frame. Worked perfectly without needing a plugin. The only downside is any modifications to the code will have to be done outside the wordpress environment.
