Hello good people!

I have just installed the phpfreechat and of course, barely know what I am doing. Nonetheless, the basics do seem to be working.

Can anyone advise on how to modify the colors in the default theme? My thought was to open the css.php file and edit the colors there, save, and re-upload to my server. However, this doesn't seem to work. I have also tried changing the theme name in the index.php file to one of the others (e.g. blune), but that only changed the area directly around the chat box and not the green background. It also did not work consistently. I did rehash the chat in my various attempts. Sometimes that helped, sometimes it did not. I've also searched the forum, but did not find anything as "basic" as the instructions that I think I am seeking.

Mostly, I'd like to change the green background and white letters to something along the line of the forum's (gray black background with red lettering in Garamound Italic).

Thanks for any help! (I need the really basic instructions such as what file to go to and what lines to edit.)

The background around the chat is just html that you can edit in index.php... it's not controlled by a theme in any way. You had the changing of the inside of the chat right by using the theme parameter in index.php.

Just to be clear, I did not make the last post by member huanic. I don't know why my signature was used.

It's a spam bot - don't worry about it, hopefully the admin will delete it - just don't click on the links.

Believe me, I know. I just cleared 15 posts from him last night and he's back again... oy.
