I just installed a fresh copy of 1.0 BETA 11 and try to get rid of the chatbox name "Quick Chat" by changing it in the params array. Then I reload the page completely but nothing changes.

I wanted to 'turn on' the nick prompt-on-connect and thus changed the nickname key in the params array to an empty string and reloaded the page, but I'm still named guest###. Even deleting the key from the array doesn't work.

I also tried to change the 'guest###' to 'guess###' just to see if that would work, but I still get named guest### on connect.

I get the strong feeling that these parameters are not being used at all. If they are, why don't they work for me?

Thanks for any reply that follows.

Jerry

EDIT: oh yeah maybe you are interested in the URL: http://84.107.204.56/phpfreechat/phpfreechat-1.0-beta11

It's on a locally running Apache2 server so you can't access it when my computer is turned off.

Hmm weird... I tried to delete the session files and load up the box again and now I did get named differently but my box still says 'Quick chat'.

Oh lol I've been reading the question of that FAQ entry for two or three times but felt like that couldn't be it.

Thanks! ^^
