remove Powered by utChat for Joomla! text

hello,
is there a way of removing this text?
i looked into the utchat.php file and found this line:

echo "<p align='center'>Powered by <a href='http://www.utopiart.com/projets-opensource/'>utChat</a> for Joomla!</p>";

is it safe to remove?
and, is there a way of changing the text utChat which is right above a room?
