I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but I'm having some difficulty with a conflict between the myprototype javascript library and the prototype javascript library already in use on the site I'm integrating the chat into.

Specifically, I'm integrating the chat into an existing data entry program. This program uses the Prototype javascript library (www.prototypejs.org) to perform AJAX calls to the server. I notice that in the phpfreechat project, a javascript library "myprototype.js" implements a function called "$()". This function is of course also implemented in the prototype library. Unfortunately, the two implementations differ enough that using the myprototype library's causes the data entry program to fail, and vice versa if only the prototype library is declared.

Has anyone else run into this problem? Is there any plan to implement these functions using a standard library?

Thanks
