Hello,

I've installed PhpFreeChat on my website which is running punbb.

Everything works fine and I'm automatically using the name of the person who's logged in throught punbb authentification.

I have different pages on my website. And one is the chat page.

If I stay on that page (where I run "new phpFreeChat($params)"), I can chat with different users who are also on the same page. But if I go to another page (forum for example) where I don't run the chat, others will see a message saying that I am disconnected.

Would there be an easy way to link punbb's athentification and idle handling with phpfreechat's ?

Basically, since my main authoring system is punbb, I would like phpfreechat to use the same process.

I understand the problem and a solution would be to write a very light "phpfreechat ajax updater" that could be inserted in every chat pages.
This ajax updater could help to keep user connected to the chat even if the user do not have the main chat window open.

Currently this module is not written but it could be a great improvment to phpfreechat. Feel free to contribute if you are a developper and if you have time to spare :)

So you think that's something which is feasable. I don't really know how. Maybe by integrating the online information in a mysql table in memory.

Sorry but I'm a complete beginner when it comes to AJAX and javascript. So I would have to look into it and I guess it would take me quite a while to first understand your code.

But if someone has a clue as how to do that, it would be just great.

Alain.
