Include javascript

Is it possible to include all the js-code in external documents? I've problems putting the script in the <head> tag because my template-system depends on a preg_replace command. Things like \ an $1 in the js gets fucked up when trying to do this!

Currently this is not a priority for me (working hard on the 1.0 features) but I'm open to integrate a contribution on this.
