The Box to Enter Your Name Isn\'t Coming Up

Okay, I still haven't received any responses to my previous questions so what I did was delete my chatroom and start from scratch.

I installed the latest update, and got everything up okay, but the box that usually comes up where you type in the nickname you want to use is not longer coming up. It's defaulting to "guestxxx".

Please, we have a scheduled chat tonight! Can someone tell me what is going on and how I can fix this?

From experience, I suggest 1: clearing your browser's session cookies 2: clearing the chat/data directories on the server 3: clear the browser's cache. And to be absolututely sure, rehash the chat.

This sort of stuff happened to me 100 times, I changed something somewhere but there were cached data or none-deleted cookies that interfered, so I got erronous results of my tweaking efforts. Might be something else though, but it's always good to start there.

Thank you. How do I do that rehash thing? Do I just type rehash in the posting area?

gritty, I think you have to edit your chat script and comment the $params['nick'] line.
Or just assign a blanck nick : $params['nick'] = '';
