How do you set who is admin in the beta version?

Is there any kind of docs for it anywhere?

Thank you
Mike

Code: Select all
$params['admins'] = array('username_1'  => 'password', 'username_2' => 'password', 'username_3' => 'password');

so-on-and-so-forth.....

Thank you.

Is there a way to set users?

So people can log in using their passwords so no one else can use their username?

something like maybe
$params['user'] = array('username_1' => 'password', 'username_2' => 'password', 'username_3' => 'password');

This is not an issue, in fact, i welcome that very much - because it is very easy to implement some sort of login and it should not become phpfreechats task to manage users.

Like it is now (only chat) its very flexible and very easy to integrate. The only thing that must happen is some sort of "how to implement user-management" in some documentation, so users know how to make logins work.
Maybe phpfreechat should add some classes for simple usermanagement but i think its not necessary - there is enough stuff of this sort out there (eg. PEAR)

I agree with your advice Beni. But unfortunatly, a lot of noob (none developer) want to use phpfreechat without any php skills ... so I understand the two point of view.
Adding some extra classes to register users is a good idea but be sure this will not be included by default in phpfreechat.
However I must found some ways to setup phpfreechat with externals users rights. Currently there is admin flags but adding a list of users that need to be authentificated before beeing able to use their nickname is a good idea.

As first chat load you can be admin just be running these commands :
/nick admin
/identify

So when you are admin, just run /rehash and the new admins will be taken into account.
