Removing \"ghost\" user?

Last Sunday we had a site-wide chat. One of the users had a computer freeze and came back and her old nickname was still there. I could NOT /kick it or /ban and /unban it. Eventually, the next day, it disappeared.

But now we've got another one (different user) that's persistent, it will NOT go away. The user can come in and use a different username, but I can't figure out how to remove the "ghost" user.

I have used /rehash, /kick, /ban (it won't kick or ban it -- returns NO message) if I use /unban it says "Nobody was unbanned."

I dumped the log, but didn't think that would do any good (did not). So what do I need to do to get rid of the "persistent" ghost user?

Never mind, I think I got it. I deleted the "data" folders under the data/private and data/public sections and refreshed and it disappeared. So hopefully that took care of it.
