allow sound always

My user on my website are use to ajax chat, I would like to switch over to pfc since I like how it works better, and doesnt need a database, plus allows multiple channels at once. I was wondering however, is there a way to make it so chat always makes a sound, not only when minimized, then my users can enable/disable sound as they wish. They liked the chat sound in ajax chat. Thanks.

I'm new to the site and we have also, just install this particular chat program. We love it.

However, I have read the FAQ topic..and How-To's and I still find we are having trouble with the sound. I did read this topic: http://www.phpfreechat.net/forum/viewtopic.php?id=4693 yet we find the problem continues. Which is: We have no sound. Regardless whether the chat is minimized or not. Whether the mouse pointer is on the chat window..or not. So far, nothing has worked for us.

We are using the most current phpbb board.

I'm sure it's a simple fix. But we're just not able to sort it out.

We would like the sound to work in the following ways: Upon a friend entering the room. When a text msg., is sent into the Chat. And regardless of whether the browser is minimized or not. Mouse point location should be a non issue as well.

As of now with the official PFC 1.3 the only sound that comes up is when you aren't focusing the chat area, for the others "events" to work you will have to code it since the script doesn't have it officially..

if you hear a sound when you aren't in the chat or you minimized then the script is working perfectly..

Thank you kindly. We'll have a look at your suggestion of coding.

As it stands, it would seem under no circumstances will we have sound. But perhaps, we've missed a step. We'll review.

Naw. We didnt miss anything. Checked, double checked. We don't have sound ...it's that simple. LOL. We do not hear sound with a minimized chat window.

...Something is just way wrong with this. :/
