Chat not loading

I'm using a Chat extension for my mediawiki. It worked fine on 1.16.5, but now that I upgraded, the chat doesn't load.

Yes, I have tried clearing the chat cache.

I downgraded back to 1.16.5, and it works now. It just doesn't with 1.17
