Hello and welcome for a newbie as me :)
There's a question of mine, I couldn't solve alone:
Is there anyone who can help me to make the (IRC) Nettalk-frontend fit for phpFreeChat?
I can make -> CONNECTIONS - CREATE TCP/IP-CONNECTIONS and need an IP or website (here: rockradio.de), the next I need is the port???
Did anyone solved the problem to use the phpFreeChat with Nettalk?
Thanks in advance
cocu

Sorry if I'm not following, are you just looking to connect to an existing IRC server? If so, might I recommend http://cgiirc.org/ or http://sourceforge.net/projects/phpirc/ for CGI or PHP respectively? The work is already done on both of those and they work well. :)

Yah phpfreechat is not for IRC, it makes http requests to refresh with ajax (does it smoothly). PJIRC is another good program for IRC.

Sorry OldWolf and radionow,
that's not the problem.
I dont't want to built up an IRC-connection, I only want to join this phpChat:
http://rockradio.de/phpchat1/rockradiochat.php
But I want to use a frontent like the IRC-client Nettalk. This one is able to connect IRC-connections AND TCP/IP-connections.
I hoped I can built an TCP/IP-connection to the rockradio.de/phpchat1
The reason is I want to use the features of this client :)
Thanks and have a nice christmas-time.

I'm not quite sure I understand completely, I'm not familiar with nettalk, do you want to have a login system?

Merry Christmas to you too :D

correct, radionow.

We former used the IRC-Nettalk-frontend to login in an irc-channel.
Now we have a phpFreeChat and no frontend is known for login.
So I have to go to the website and start the chat (linked).

But this IRC-frontend, called Nettalk, is able to start TCP/IP-connections, not only irc-connections.
Now I'm looking for a solution, to use it to start the phpFreeChat :)

That's all, not more, not less!!!

Have a nice X-mas too.

OH... let me see if I get it: you want to use nettalk to connect to the PFC server in order to chat from the nettalk client, instead of from the website itself?

To be honest, I have no idea how that would work. You'd have to create some sort of plugin to receive the commands and switch them to pfc. And I'm not even sure it requests information the right way. You would have a large project ahead of you I'm afraid.

OK i understand now, sort of like an IRC client program, but it would work with php free chat instead and not irc. As to how to do it I wouldn't know either, though I'd love to just look at it sometime (doubt i could do anything since ive got more sites and projects i can manage now).

Cheers :D
