Initially I apologize for my English...

The concern I have is as follows, I want to add a new button to this chat, which call a window which rises files to the server and once he finishes carrying out this process returns the address where the file was, I need to be able to send these parameters Chat text box in order to send attachments to other people.

I have already made the code that allows me to upload information, I need to know how to integrate this new functionality in this chat.

I hope I have been clear in my doubt...

I already have the code to make the process raised, I need to know which files can be modified to add this option :)

Very hard, a chat is not supposed to share files...
and if you do, it requires a more complex system to handle security, etc...

If your looking for a file sharing/upload example, I've created one here, this is a very simple template change with a couple of files added, no source code changed at all, no confirm or error messages so far, I just started this so more work is needed take a look

Interesting... and how do you propose I force users to keep their threads up to date 5 months after they've posted an answer to a specific user?

Why on earth would I tell users they can't post links. That just hinders the promotion of new ideas.

Nor can I enforce that links stay up to date... do you propose I go through every week and check every thread for links, and make sure they still work? Be practical, and reasonable, I cannot enforce this rule.

Nor, I'm sure, do users intend to let their links go bad when they first post them. Do you really think todhend came here and posted that link thinking "Excellent, I'll post this, and then in 5 months, take it down so no one can find it. Bwa ha ha ha!"

The link worked before, I saw it myself.. it's a shame it died, but there is NOTHING I can do about that. I don't have the original resources.

I go back to this, I could certainly create a rule that says "Don't let your links go bad"... but then, how could I enforce that rule? It's empty, a user isn't going to be any less likely to let a link go bad by accident.
