I would love to see channel and user modes implemented. For example, I would like to have a channel mode that will allow channel op's to prevent others from posting messages in the channel. This would be useful for a time when only op's want to post information for everyone to read without interruption. Then, of course, be able to change the channel mode again to allow for anyone to post.

I believe this is slated for the next version of the chat (this was one I was pushing for actually). Unfortunately at this time there's no ETA for the new version.
